Re: HiFD availability

>>>Horror Imminent For Iomega<<< - Rocky, just how imminent is the horror?

Do you or anyone have better info than the conflicting references I show below?

From the Sony site: "Sony expects to have this technology available for purchase by the general public in the Spring of 1998."

From Home PC (3/1/98): "By the time you read this or soon after, the reviewed drives should have new competitors, including Caleb Technology's UHD 144; Castlewood's ORB 2.16GB; Sony and Fuji Photo's 200MB HiFD; Swan/Mitsumi's UHC 130; and Hi-Val's internal and external drives based on LS-120 technology."

From Computer Retail Week (2/9/98): "The product was announced by Sony in November at Comdex/Fall and is scheduled to ship in the summer."

Regards - Dale
