Gerald,

Looks like we can expect some announcements from the networks in the next couple of weeks regarding their format choices so the affiliates know what to be shopping for:

techweb.cmp.com

" In a round of interviews with network executives and equipment makers here, most agreed that broadcasters' choices will have profound implications for the future of TV on multiple fronts: availability and economy of scale for production equipment, including VTRs, routers, switchers and storage devices; display quality and picture resolution for programming.

Some of the networks are expected to reveal their choices prior to NAB. But it is becoming increasingly clear that the major networks have already made diverging technology decisions. Their choices also reflect their vastly different views on DTV business development and strategies. "
