< Can anyone estimate the income potential from daytrading>

Depends on the amount of capital you have to trade with, whether you are comfortable using margin, how disciplined you are, ... I'd suggest before you begin trading you develop a business plan. You need to identify how much income you need. Do you need 100K per year to live on or can you get by on 30K? What is starting capital? What is daily profit goal? Are you trying to maximize income or just hit some target? What is max daily loss you'd take? Some days you'll lose and you have to accept that. Remember each day is a new playing field.
