re: your point 3. Do you have the idc source? The last study I saw had CPQ #1, HWP #2, IBM #3 and Dell #4 in the Intel server space, with Dell at about 1/6 of CPQ (35% for cpq, 5.8% for Dell). Cpq had more than the next 2 combined. Dell did have the fastest growth in the server space but cpq had share gain in this space so Dell did not gain at cpq's expense. Only Ibm lost share so gains among the other three were at the expense of small guys like AST. some info on this is at idcnet.itresearch.com (you need to be an idc subscriber or pay for the underlying report)
