One more point re: SONY -- Not only would competitors be placing themselves at risk from a single source supply from a competitor and leaving many recent customers in the lurch.......since the real profits in removeables is in the disks.......DELL et al would be creating downstream revenues for SONY. True, this may not be a huge sum in terms of SONY's total gross, but with margings as tight as they are for the boxers, why expose yourself the supply risk and provide SONY an annuity at the same time?

A while back I asked if SONY might not have to cut potential oem's in on disk sale profits as an inducement. I'm still wondering if the bottom line would support that. And If that be the case, it seems like that could be a bigger threat to SONY profits than whatever dent Nomai may eventually be able to take from IOM's disk sales.

The more I consider it, the more rediculous the IBM hard drive example becomes in this situation.
