Actually, both stock and cash payments will affect the quarterly performance in terms of earnings per share. If they use stock instead of cash, dilution will reduce earnings per share. Yes, I agree that the company will probably use stock to pay symantec given formf's newfound strength. I am not really concerned though, I think this is a good company for long term investment.
