Nick, Thanks for the link on the cable modem service. I will look into it. Thanks also for giving me your inputs on your friend's new Dell machine.

Just in case you or someone else might have missed it, I will re-post the link to the latest Upside magazine interview with Michael Dell.

This article blew me away. In contrast to the image of him that came across at the recent televised meeting in Washington, he looks quite impressive to me in this article. One should often take the comments of a CEO about his company with a grain of salt, but in this case of Dell, I wonder. He seems to be a real straight shooter (this is very important to me), and seems to have somewhat incredible vision about the whole computer industry. Everything he says in this article makes sense to me. I am going to try to control my enthusiasm, however, and continue to try to find out what could go wrong. I think this is a good approach to take with any tech stock.

I think a big problem for all of us Dell investors is in determining the magnitude of the various plusses and minuses for Dell Computer. Clearly there are lots of plusses, but the bears would argue that these are more than offset by the lofty price of the stock. I am starting to get the feeling, however, that despite the incredible run that Dell has had, there is lots more to come. I wonder if this trend towards eliminating the "middlemen" in commerce is far bigger than we can imagine.

Still paranoid,

John
