To all,
I finally received the return call from Mr. Nolan yesterday afternoon. Here is the summary of what I can find from him:

1. NANO licensed some of OSI's technology which will be used to check the alignment of the multiple layers of films. The current NANO technology only measure the film thickness.

2. NANO brought in some people from OSI and acquired some of their inventories.

3. They are doing very well in Japan and Taiwan. He did not say any push-back in S. Korea, but he comment: it will be a big mistake for the S. Koreans if that happens...because of many people think Japanese and Taiwanese will pick up the slack.

4. NANO is still the #1 leader in the 300 mm film thickness measurement. They have delivered average 2 units of 8300 system since Q2 of 96...for total 7 Q's. He believes that Thermawave did not sell any unit yet. Other equipment suppliers are buying the 8300 to calibrate their systems and technologies. The 300 mm technology is still moving forward and very alive. But, he did not know if this will bring in significant revenue in the short term because of it is still not clear how soon the technology will be used in mass production.

5. NANO's technology can measure the film thickness of the new sub 0.25 um technology.

I think these covered everything from this phone call. I will check my notebook if I forget any thing on Monday. Looks like NANO got some strength yesterday. Good luck.

I believe some of you may have received his call as well. Please verify the accuracy of my post and add your notes. Good luck.

Sincerely,
Wade
