Well-it depends on what you think the correlation is...

If the scientific future holds the removal of that genetic risk for brothers and sisters, then that may move the question of sibling incest into the morality camp, right alongside of homosexuality. Although I'd be interested in some pretty comprehensive psychological studies on the relationships--there may be more of a power element present than you think. But other than that--then the situations become comparable. From an intellectual standpoint there could no objection to either.
As for our allowing other types of carriers to marry...
THe results of inbreeding have been obvious for centuries which is probably why it's been forbidden, but most genetic abnormalities have only been traceable very recently. With the advent of gene manipulation, with amniocentesis, with genetic counseling, we can now spot some of these and couples are able to make responsible decisions if a problem is discovered. The government hadn't yet managed to stick its nose in--but do you doubt that it won't try?
So do we still disagree?
