Cool, another person that knows what they are talking about. very well put point on the getting out of cpq stock! and sort of funny too!!! humor rules!

You are absoutely right about tandem, they run alot of stuff we use every day. but look at tandems annual revs over the past 5 years
(all rev in billions)

1992 2.03
1993 2.01
1994 2.10
1995 2.28
1996 1.89

does this look like a market that is growing. with the explosion of IP and ATM you would think their revenues would be exploding as well.
how come they are flat at best, my intution tells me you know something about tandems market, in all seriousness please help me understand why their revenues have been flat?????

although the installed based of tandem equip will allow for a bit of milking over the next few years, this does not look like the growth engine that will take Eckhard to his promised land of $50BB.

will DEC's unix business biz get him there???? lets take a quick peek at DEC revenue picture over the years

1993 14.3
1994 13.4
1995 13.8
1996 14.5
1997 13.0

hmmm kinda flat there to. so tandem is flat at best, DEC is flat at best, as the wnedy;s commerical use to say "WHERE IS THE BEEF"
or more appropriately "WHERE IS THE GROWTH"...

in my opinion it is in NT clustered and non-clustered servers. Why did Earl and Eckhard go waste your hard earned money buying these companies with no prospect for growth. this is especially hard to understnd since CPQ already owned the fasted groing mkt... NT Servers

go figure. please help me understand where my thinking is flawed. It must be flawed or CPQ stock would be even lower!!!!

thanks

jason
