Doug and all,

I have gotten a lot of useful information from this thread over the 2 years of so that I've read the posts. Bought AMAT in the trough of Summer '97 and kept buying, right up to the top of Oct '98 unfortunately. So, I have a large position.

The question that I have is whether it might be wise to sell some shares and buy LEAPS for Jan. 2000. There is much controversy about the near term, but there seems to be a consensus that the longer term is bright for AMAT. So, buying the LEAPS would seem to conform to that consensus. Any comments on this strategy or advice about LEAPS in general would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Bruce
