Hey David, why'd the bozo cross the road? God I can't believe the memories that have popped up with all this Firesign Theater stuff. I was serious when I was telling Guy G. that I had forgotten that I had stolen the Whoopie-tie-one-on line from the Firesign boys. Its amazing how much of that stuff has gotten incorporated into the psyche of a generation. I bet there's a bunch of folks that are wondering what the hell all this Bozo, Georgie Tirebiter, Crushing Dwarf with pliers, stuff is all about. I guess I'd have to tell them to inflate their rubber shoes and line up on the yellow funline and go try to dig those old albums up.
I thought your analysis of the IOMG Bulletin Board very insightful and elegant. (Shakesperian, pittards, passion play etc)
As I said before, not the most normal board you'll find, but lots of fun. I couldn't believe the other night when politics, Nam, Napalm etc. all started flying by. It was better than many novels and any T.V. I stayed up way-late reading it, couldn't stop.
I must admit that sometimes I enjoy stirring the pot up, it can be so much fun! Sometime for kicks, leave a post saying that "all IOMEGALOMANICS are scum sucking idiots" and see how full your mailbox gets.
Actually I don't purposely try to bait the folks with good stuff to say, but I sure get fed up with the Cheerleaders wasting space and some of the pretentious know-it-alls who have no sense of humor.
As for making money and learning to trade go look at some of the options posts, Tech. analysis, short-term trading etc. I think you'll find out alot more about the Market there without all the emotional stuff you find here. This is a great place to study the psychological stuff going on, which is also important since you can make a bundle playing off peoples emotions. They say there are two emotions that move the market-Greed and Fear. People buy on Greed and sell on Fear. Thats why a contrarian approach to the market works so well.
I try to hold or Buy when its scary. I sell(or think about it) when I'm clicking my heels, jumping up and down, giggling and thinking my stock is going to the moon and never coming down. Great Indicators!
Lots of other stuff to consider of course, but it's a good thing to look at.
As for IOMG, the fundamentals look OK. They are talking good story. My Technical Analysis looks awful though. If it tests the recent 27 mark and DOES NOT break through, I'm selling (maybe even short). If it breaks through to 27 1/2 or 28, I probably BUY BIG.
My "gut" feeling tells me that things are not all that great and it probably is stuck in a trading range for a while. Time will tell. Jeff
