Naomi, Beauty and Darkness

Naomi had been born in Nigeria in 1953, she had moved, with her family, in 1956 to New York. She had been baptized a Christian and came from a large close knit family group. Her father worked in the Nigerian mission to the UN and they were very prominent Christians in Nigeria. A shift in the power climate had stranded the family, left them as refugees in the United States. A pogrom against certain tribal groups had begun and her family was forced to stay in the US and apply for refugee status. Her father had been and still was a Reverend and her mother, who had worked as a volunteer nurse, had to get a job. Her Father found employment as a janitor and attended his work carefully for many years. He also offered his help and time to a local Church of his denomination in New York, not that his work left him a lot of time. This particular Church had recently extended an honest and open invitation for homosexuals to begin attending services.

Naomi attended Church with her parents and listened to the sermons religiously. The spirit of love filled her completely and she was a wonder to her parents and a mainstay in their lives. They fully appreciated what a beautiful thing the Lord had done for their family as they strove together to create an environment of love and understanding which could flourish and enrich the wonderful world they lived in.
Roberto had been drawn to the Church at an early age, his Mother was a deeply devout Catholic woman who had divorced her husband after he had been sent ot prison for child molestation, spousal abuse, common assault, robbery and beating a man to death because he was dressed as a woman. As she regarded her son now in his beautiful robes she Praised the Lord for her sons goodness and Charity, she laughingly flicked some imaginary lint from his vestements, and wondered again how he could have chosen to be of a different faith than she. The minor differences sometimes annoyed her, but she really didn't doubt her son's devoutness or his sense of duty, his faith often outshone her devotion but she loved him as only a parent can love a child. Today was a special Easter Service and celebration. Roberto and Naomi were announcing their marriage after the Sermon. It was an open fact that Roberto had been courting Naomi for some time, so it likely wouldn't surprise anyone, but Roberto's mother was still nervous.
Naomi and Roberto didn't have a lot of money so they considered themselves especially lucky when two members of the congregation had offered them rooms in a very large apartment. The rent was something they could manage and the rooms had a wonderful airy feeling.
Narrators Note : Story line was paused here while suitable evidence of truth was awaited, Graystone did many things, when he began reading again he quickly found a nice Christian Homosexual Couple who were properly married in a Christian Church.
