mcdonalds seems to have blown in and out of the oracle's portfolio. when did he sell it and why. is it because he saw its rise in value more limited than previously anticipated. is it because he wanted big cash cause he's waiting for a market blowout. he bought it at an average price of 42 (see 1996 report) but could have sold it at most at 55. at his prices, i saw a 15 percent annualized gain. Maybe dairy queen had an anticompetitive clause in its purchase agreement. or feelings of loyalty to a new berkshire subsidiary sparked the sale.

in any case, berkshire is the worlds greatest investment.
