He is none other than Mr Daniel Martini - resurrected. Anyway among all the provocation and sky is falling scenarios I do agree that with all that's going on CPQ's management bandwidth is stretched. An naturally there is a lot going on. As for the other issues he has it wrong - I don't think service is why CPq went after DEC - it was just gravy. Ed's several posts shed more light on this. Without a DEC down the road the future looks like what - a boxmaker moving microprocessors. This is what strategic thinking is all about - the poor execution of the BTO model is pure tactical and will be corrected shortly as stated by CPQ.

I am willing to stay on and look at this as an opportunity that only comes ever so often.
