Hi bill: What you have described is the normal behavior of price and volume in a healthy uptrend. What you are looking for is any deviations from the pattern, placing greater importance on the OBV over the price, the belief being that volume precedes price. The OBV is used to confirm the validity of price movements and it can also act as a leading indicator. As long as the pattern you're observing continues our trend remains in force. Re: software packages, in case your not aware the Green Line web site has some software info in the Investment Research Catalogue, might be worth checking. Flo J
