Thanks for the links. I disoceverd I actually knew more about this issue than I initially believed. My father is German, and he told me about German scientists success in converting coal gases to Panzer tank fuel. I had forgotten that that was the Fischer-Tropsch process.

In any event, Agees comments are interesting:
The fluid-bed reactor uses a high-alpha cobalt catalyst and operates at 300-500 psig and 375-450øF. Syntroleum has piloted the
process in a 2-bbl/d plant and licensed the technology to Marathon Oil Co. (Houston) and Texaco, Inc. (White Plains, N.Y.) So
far, neither licensee has any immediate plans for the technology.

Yes, SLHO has been more suceessful in getting licensed to date, but its not clear what TX is doing with the technology. Doesn't sound to me like 2-bbl/d is very impressive. Am I missing something?
