Ignacio, are you talking about homosexuals adopting children?
If that is the case, I would just like to comment that America, at least, has really differing standards on this based on what state you live in. There was even a case in Florida, I believe, a couple of years ago where the natural mother of a toddler boy lost custody to the child's father, because the mother had left that relationship and had a lesbian relationship with her girlfriend. The custody battle was based on her being an unfit parent, although I don't believe any evidence was provided of that EXCEPT that she was in a gay relationship.
Out here in California, and I think in some other states, homosexual couples are encouraged to provide homes for damaged children by fostering or adopting them--children with AIDS and other serious defects or diseases, children whose natural parents abused and neglected them, and older, unadoptable children. While I think this is great, and probably will eventually lead to more acceptance of homosexuals as parents, it is sort of sad that they have to come in the back door like this. But the stigma is lessening, and that is great.
Of course, it goes without saying that there are good and bad parents, hetero- and homosexual, and that all the usual standards we use to evaluate adoptive parents should be in place.
