My long term record is not especially impressive. For one
account, I an up 72% in 2.25 years. That is less than 30%
per year. Last year the S&P 500 was up 36%.

My other account is harder to judge because I keep adding
money. It probably equaled the S&P. But buying stocks has
some advantages over mutual funds. One is the entertainment
value. The other is the hope that I will eventually learn
to outperform the market (longterm).
