Typically the main complaint of stockholders of a first-class
company such as cpq is "everybody else is going up, why isn't mine?"

The computer industry history is filled with massive disappointments
once companies get large and so some worry is justified. Does Compaq
grow at 20% rate or will it's sales be relatively flat in the years to come (as it has for DEC and IBM in recent years). Different answers give wildly different stock price fair values, hence the volatility.
