BayView: The BAY-CISCO percentage held by institutions is roughly equal but the number of institutions participating is 3 to 1 in favour of CISCO. It would be healthier for BAY if the number of holding institutions increased. It would make BAY less vulnerable to that herd mentality among institutions which accounts for sharp moves in either direction. The recent rise to 72% institutional ownership was very bearish and could only have made the stock vulnerable to exaggerated correction.
