Talked to Dell this weekend, they said 5 days to build & ship (not including shipping time). Yup, after listening to all the wisdom on this thread about how a cheap box is good enough, I'm probably going to spring for a PII with a monster hard drive, humongous monitor, 64MB SDRAM, etc etc, just so I can word process and surf the net! And of course I am getting a totally standard Intel motherboard to ensure upgradability, and AGP graphics card even though nothing of interest uses AGP yet, and I'm buying from Dell because they have a good rep for reliability and service and get high ratings from all the mags they advertise in. But whaddaya want... I get a 270 MHz Ultrasparc with no monitor... only 3 grand in the latest PC World advertisement....? No, I must join the Borg! Didn't their stock dip lately... hmmm.... -g- HB
