Brings the Performance, Scaleability and Functionality of Unix Systems to Windows NT Server
and Windows 95 Sand Technology Systems International, Inc. today announced Nucleus
Exploration Mart product suite for Microsoft Windows NT Server and Windows 95. Now a
"branded" provider for Microsoft Windows NT Server, Sand's Nucleus software products help
companies gain a return on investment (ROI) for their OLTP, DSS, and data marts by enabling
users to quickly derive business intelligence from Windows NT resident applications and legacy
data. The Nucleus Exploration Mart can be used as a stand-alone system or as an adjunct to
existing data marts or warehouses. The Nucleus Exploration Mart for mart development is a
prototyping and iterative development facility for Windows NT data mart designers that allows fast
and simple data acquisition, assimilation and validation. Exploration Mart for data mart deployment
is a powerful analytical processing tool for end users, knowledge workers and power users that
allows them to perform iterative, ad hoc, forensic queries of the data, involving drill down often not
envisioned during the original design of the data mart. Nucleus is an ideal product for Windows NT
and Windows 95 users due to its tremendous performance and ease-of-use combined with its
inherent ability to scale end user computing needs. In fact, the total cost-of-ownership is reduced
by approximately 85 percent with Nucleus for Windows NT as compared to traditional UNIX
platforms - and Nucleus provides the same performance and functionality as alternative UNIX

Product Availability The Nucleus Exploration Warehouse and Nucleus Exploration Mart for NT

1998 for use with any new or existing data warehouse/mart system. The Nucleus software products
start at $1,295 (USD) for Windows NT and at $595 (USD) for Windows 95. They are available
through Sand Technology and their distribution partners, including Sand's affiliate, Hitachi Data
