John, I think losing the browser battle has implications for the server, etc. market, since he who controls de facto standards is likely to be first to market on both sides of the wire -- client and server. If MSoft gains the dominant position in browsers they can (past conduct suggests "will") introduce "features" with new releases which NSCP would need to match (which takes time). Even temporary lack of such "features" would make their servers look deficient. NSCP would not be able to play the game to the same extent, since introducing a "feature" in a server isn't much use if most clients can't use it.
