ThermaCell Signs Agreement for National Distribution of ThermaCool Paints & Coatings; To Add $1 Million in Annualized Sales Within 12-Months
MIAMI, March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- ThermaCell Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: VCLL - news, VCLLW - news) signed an agreement with Distribution America, Inc. of Des Plaines, Ill. to launch the national distribution of ThermaCell's ThermaCool(R) line of insulation enhanced paints and coatings as well as ThermaCell's Scientific Coatings(TM) and Atlas(TM) branded products. Terms were not disclosed.
Distribution America (DA) is the largest independent distribution network for hardlines products in America, representing more than $2.7 billion in wholesale buying power. Under the agreement, ThermaCell will be able to market to DA members, who run more than 50 distribution centers servicing more than 25,000 independent hardware store customers in most markets, with the exception of the SouthWest.
John Pidorenko, Chairman, President and CEO of ThermaCell, said sales through the DA group could add at least $1 million on an annualized basis within 12-months, which would build ThermaCell's run rate to more than $4 million. Mr. Pidorenko said sales through the DA group could also develop national awareness for ThermaCool microsphere-enhanced paints and coatings.
ThermaCell was founded to develop, manufacture and market insulating materials and coatings using an innovative, microsphere insulation technology. Microspheres are uniform, hollow, glass bubbles that look like fine, white sand. Mixed in paints, coatings and other building materials, microspheres create a barrier that can be more effective and less expensive than conventional insulation. Tests show that ordinary shingles coated with ThermaCool reduces temperatures on the roofs of Florida homes by more than 30%, cutting down the wear on exterior surfaces and air conditioning needs inside. NASCAR Racing Teams report that ThermaCool also reduces the extraordinary heat in driver compartments by 50-60%, improving comfort levels and cutting down the wear on equipment.
