Of course they studied him. Charlie was an accomplished author, painter, orator, and plumber. But did Star-Kist want anything to do with him? Nooooooo! He had good taste. He had decent manners. He could've been a contender, but Star-Kist just HAD to use that bimbo mermaid for a spokesperson.

You know what the Green Berets do most of their time after they go through their initial physical training to make the course?

Well, in VN they did little other than study Charlie. Their first motto is "To Fight you Enemy you MUST know him."

Perhaps we've been watching a few too many John Wayne movies, have we?? From what I read in the paper about the outcome, they didn't study hard enough. Not that they should have ever been in that particular classroom anyway, but that's a different matter.
