scott, the biggest thing to learn is that fraud is real and that small caps are more susceptable to it. i've seen plenty of "big boys" get ripped apart, too, though.

to all on this thread, diversification is important. sure, you don't hit the homerun, but a couple singles and doubles w/o the strikeouts can be pretty darn productive.

go check out www.mdli.com. i do not own any, though i think it has lots of *potential* - nothing is guaranteed ;-)

i plan on diversifying into mdli when the opportunity arises. they had lower than expected eps and dropped over 50%. the damage doesn't appear to be fundamental. they are currently trading at a low pe (11-14) and have had good growth apart from this latest *disappointment*. they do make money (hurray :-)

check out the mdli thread on si and www.mdli.com for more info. this is not a solicitation to buy or sell. just an avenue for everyone to do their own due dilly. on the mdli thread, somebody spoke about aggressive accounting. this *proble?* s/b resolved in anyone's mind before investing in this company. check the chart...

good luck and diversify (wave good bye to social security 8*(
