To Thread;

Here's the latest and greatest synopsis of analyst recommendations on cpq:

Earnings Etimates ÿÿQtr(3/98) ÿÿQtr(6/98) ÿÿFY(12/98) ÿÿFY(12/99) Average Estimate ÿÿ$0.12 ÿÿ$0.21 ÿÿ$1.22 ÿÿ$1.79
Number of Analysts ÿÿ28 ÿÿ24 ÿÿ33 ÿÿ21
High Estimate ÿÿ$0.37 ÿÿ$0.39 ÿÿ$1.76 ÿÿ$2.30
Low Estimate ÿÿ$0.00 ÿÿ$0.00 ÿÿ$0.60 ÿÿ$1.05
Year Ago EPS ÿÿ$0.27 ÿÿ$0.30 ÿÿ$1.35 ÿÿ$1.22
Growth Rate ÿÿ-57.06% ÿ ÿ-28.07% ÿ ÿ-9.81% ÿÿ47.21%

Looks pretty disgusting. Should anyone wonder why the funds and big money movers are dumping it. This info is consistent with what my broker told me earlier today. Growth for the next 12 months amounts to a zero and less. Have got to wait until 1999 before we're back on track - but then again it is virtually impossible to project that far out with any degree of certainty. Therefore, even 1999 estimates leave a lot to be desired and carry a lot of risk. By the way - notice the major difference between the high and low estimate for 1999. Scary!!
