>>>I like the idea of tracking a portfolio of these stocks, and perhaps dividing them into groups.

Groups could be done it's up to the thread. A balance however against the entire segment seems the best long term way to go.

Case in point, A.W.s' Security picks are breathing fire today..but will they tomorrow? It might be brokerage, e-tailers & e-services.

We still need to select some business to business picks, along with a commerce zone or a mall.

The idea being that we start with 20 @ 1000 each and see if in 100 months it isn't at or near a Million. I mean we've got the best 8 years ahead of in this segment....don't we? We should be looking for companies which will be in the best position to capitalize on the 20 fold e-commerce growth expected by 2001...and the 50%er that is forcasted to come after that in 2002. Wishful thinking?

The only thing we have to work out is, if someone sours...how do we get them off, and how many we initially start with.

>>>I wonder if some other web site might provide better portfolio tracking than SI (more features, etc.) and still be available for everyone here to link to quickly.

The thing which is nice about SI is you can link to the discussion....and this list makes for a good starting point for someone in here looking at this segment for the first time.
