What do you mean by:

"With all the new OEMs since 4Quater 97 an earnings surprise has to be near"?

I would generally advise you to hold now, since the volume has been SO low recently that it is bound to go up if things are not bad. Just look at how much things went wrong last fall. Especially the loss of S&P mid cap status at the beginning of tax loss selling, and then the double losses. Crazy, I am very seldom this far off! Although this and CS really KILLED me last fall.
