How do you know that Avid Cinema outputs pretty miserable product? Compared to what? I am no expert on editing video, in fact, I am an amateur but at the price, and the lack of complexity to learn to use the system, is it not the best on the market at this point? If not, what would you recommend? I do intend to purchase a system for editing video and making filmettes and thought this looked just right for an entry into this arena.
Re: your analysis about Avid. Unfortunately, the best product does not always insure an upward stock price or even a continuation of a company. But maybe there is more in the works. I noticed on their web page that Avid is sponsoring a training conference. Looks like they have lots of interesting sessions but as I said, I am an amateur and my needs would not be met there.
Netday---Are you doing anything for your community? Don't you think that kids would be able to do some neat web pages with Avid Cinema?
