Cake,

I want to pick one little nit with this statement:

Cake---->>>This sounds like the PRK procedure which has almost been
abandoned because of extreme discomfort by the patient, and takes three days for healing! Frontal ablation is painful! Recovery for Sunrise LTK is a matter of MINUTES!

Before I had PRK in 1996 I was about 6 diopters myopic. Yes, it DID take 3 days to heal, but it was worth it to be rid of the glasses I had worn since the 4th grade. Today, an experienced doctor with one of the slit-lens instuments wouldn't know I had been treated if I didn't tell him.

Of course, I would have chosen a painless procedure if it had been readily available, and I'm sure the hundreds of thousands of future LTK patients will feel the same way. But if you're myopic, the excimer is still the best out there, as far as I know.

Other than that, great post!

-Mack
