Dug this up from an old e-mail I received a while back. Not sure if it's worth anything, but it might be used to prove a certain "relationship" at the onset of things!

Deal Focuses On IMS Technology Development
El Segundo, California: December 2, 1997 - International Meta Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: IMES) announced today it has signed a $1 million agreement to provide Cadence Designs Services, Inc. with design and consulting services related to its libraries and design methodology. All such work will be contracted through Cadence Design Systems, the largest supplier of electronic design automation software tools and professional services. IMS will begin work on the first phase of the project immediately.
The project is focused on fast-time-to-market for system-on-a-chip designs. Jim Tully, analyst for Dataquest in London, has labeled this technology "the future of semiconductors". Systems-on-a-chip are anticipated to be cheaper, more reliable and require less power than the present multiple chip systems. Cadence and IMS technology reduce the time to market for these faster, more cost-effective semiconductors.
"This contract gives us tremendous momentum. It validates our approach to design automation and recognizes the significant value of IMS proprietary intellectual property and our engineering staff. It illustrates industry interest in our products and services," said Dr. Lee Hoevel, IMS president.
"We are pleased to combine the advanced design technology and creative talent that IMS has developed with the ongoing effort at Cadence to be a world leader in the systems-on-a-chip industry," stated Daniel Maher, senior vice president of worldwide operations at Cadence.
Cadence Design Systems, Inc. provides comprehensive services and technology for the product development requirements of the world's leading electronics companies. Cadence is the largest supplier of software tools and professional services used to accelerate and manage the design of semiconductors, computer systems, networking and telecommunications equipment, consumer electronics, and a variety of other electronic-based products. With more than 3,500 employees and 1996 annual sales of $742 million, Cadence has sales offices, design centers, and research facilities around the world. The company is headquartered in San Jose, California and is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol CDN. Further information is available at www.cadence.com.
This contract with Cadence is the initial result of a program initiated by IMS to offer leading edge 0.25 micron design technology to the rapidly emerging systems-on-a-chip industry. During the last year, IMS transitioned from designing and developing advanced microprocessor chips for a segment of the computer industry to offering its accumulated knowledge and talent to the electronics community at large. New IMS products include a synthesis library, MetaLibTM, and high-performance macro cells such as adders, multipliers, bus control units, etc.
MetaLibTM is designed from the start with synthesis in mind. It is optimized to routability, small size, low power and high speed. Library cell composition and characteristics were developed for 0.25-micron and smaller lithographies with no dependence on earlier standard cell libraries or technologies. IMS macro cells are compatible with PC environments, integrate efficiently with this library, and can be readily customized by the IMS design team. Together, these products can give a substantial edge to silicon design projects for the general PC marketplace.
IMS and Cadence intend to strengthen this relationship to further develop and secure continued advances in design tools technology and design components that best fit fast-time-to-market design requirements. The result will be a complete design environment, including integrated software and well-designed and verifiable libraries, along with innovative design methodologies and processes.

My question is: What's Cadence doing w/ all the designs now? Maybe Frank could enlighten us!!! |
