FYI... in the 95 downturn mtsn did not lay off a soul... and has boasted about it on many occasions... now 10% of its workforce is being laid off and cap-ex is being put on hold... sounds like a big deal to me... especially if you should happen to work for mtsn... i'll say it one final time, at the risk of boring everybody including myself... the situation is that the sea fabs have little, maybe no access to capital right now... after all why would anybody lend an industry in which the most efficiant producer (MU) is working on a margin of 5%.... at what point does conjecture become a fact, and have we reached it.... i think so
