Hi Greg, In 1 Timothy 2:14 it says, "And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being quite deceived, fell into transgression." We know that we now only use part of our brains with most of it being dormant or something. It's been proven. Adam was created a perfect being. He was vastly intelligent because of that. Adam named all the animals, that's a lot of animals, Gen. 17-20. Adam knew that death was separation from God, a spiritual death. In Gen. 2:17 when God said you will surely die Adam knew what he meant. No fellowship with God. He knew they were not going to drop dead physically. We think of death as physical death, but we are all born spiritually dead. No fellowship with God. Adam chose to keep his companionship with Eve over fellowship with God. Sin entered into the world by their disobedience to God bringing spiritual death which we are all born into (many call this condition original sin, sort of a catholic label).
When the devil tempted Jesus he offered Him all the kingdoms he controlled if Jesus would bow down and worship him, Matt. 4:9. This was a temptation so it had to be true that the devil could deliver on that promise, he had control over it all. Jesus has all rule and authority now.
