Well, I think this puppy is pretty sick short term, meaning the rest of 98. But we could have a bounce to 20 or so sometime this year for no good reason. However, I view the early retirements and such as positive longer term. More reduction on cost. When the market turns, MEMC should do very well. But probably not until 99 or even 2000.

I would also say that we are in an Index fund spiral again, and MEMC isn't on the list, so to speak. So I guess you have to stick your money in the big caps like MSFT, CPQ, DELL, and the like that have caps larger than most countries to make any money. Probably a good place to be until MEMC bottoms out or at least rises from the dead.

Of course, short term the 60 minutes story last night may put a real damper on things due to potential political upheavel in November.
