I don't need to make a killing. I'm inclined to go ahead and average a lot of cash during the year into REITs, utilities, corporate and mortgage income funds, and leave enough money-market to hedge an interest-rate increase. For growth I've picked up OTCM and FUND, they're CEFs that mimic the Russell and the best of the OTC BB stocks, and convertible funds to keep up with larger stocks without too much downside risk. And oh yes, my beloved brokerage stocks.
The rate this market is moving scares the dickens out of me, it's just incredibly inflationary.
Sometimes CEFs don't move or go down for no reason other than the sector has fallen out of favor.
Oil and gold are so cheap- how could anyone imagine oil and gold to be so cheap? It's like seeing the Dow back at 4000 again. -ggg-
