hmmm? The first 9 H shares? I'll have to research that. I'd be willing
to bet a cup of coffee that 267 is one of them. (Notice that the size
of my wager reflects my confidence. <g>)

Earnings season is approaching. Some time ago I read in the SCMP
that the chief of China Everbright had declared that profits would
show a "10 fold increase" this year over last year. Other company
officials were quick to add that those numbers were preliminary
and unaudited. To their credit, the South China Morning Post (SCMP)
pointed out that there are three Different China Everbright companies
traded, and which one would show the profit, if it exists after audit,
was not disclosed.

Regarding "inside information", IMO, the HKSFC does an admirable job
of keeping the HK market one of the fairest for the small investor
of any market in the world. I have been told "inside information"
3 times in my life. On one occaision, I found the information had
been published in the paper two days prior to my hearing about it.
On the other two, the information was SO FAR INSIDE it turned out
the company didn't even know about it! <bg>
It has been my experience that those that brag about having inside information know full well they do not. If they did and said so
publicly, it would be no different than buying a big sign that said
"arrest me" and wearing it around town.

Best Regards,
Doug
