..from SpaceDev News Letter by CEO of SpaceDev Jim Benson
----
It has been a long time since I did one of these informal updates, and much progress has been made. I am very pressed for time, so this will be a brief summary of interesting happenings.
In early February SpaceDev completed the acquisition of Integrated Space Systems (ISS). Last year ISS did about $1.9 million in sales with a profit of about $200,000. This year for ISS we are projecting about $3.5 million in sales with about $400,000 in net income, and total sales for SpaceDev, including ISS of about $10 million.
Mostly as a result of our first acquisition, SpaceDev's stock price doubled, and is now trading at about $3.
During the week of March 30, we will begin a public offering of stock to be used for our most important hires: NEAP Project Manager, NEAP Spacecraft Engineer, and a few hand-picked spacecraft engineers who have had successful hands-on experience building and testing small and inexpensive spacecraft. I encourage all accredited investors to contact me at jim@spacedev.com if you would like an offering package. This is not an offer, just a notice of upcoming activities.
Last week we mailed out about 30 copies of our Launch Services RFI (Request for Information) to all known commercial launch providers, worldwide. We will be doing followup calls and intend to begin serious discussions with appropriate launch providers over the next few weeks.
We are extremely pleased with SpaceDev and NEAP progress, and will be moving even faster as we continue to add to our staff, which currently numbers about 36. We have hired the Carl Thompson investor relations agency of Boulder, Colorado to represent us. Our launch and NEAP mission animation were used on ABC nightly news about a week ago, and while no other companies in the report were named, the SpaceDev name on the side of the rocket was highly visible. SpaceDev will be on at least two Discovery Channel programs this fall and next year, and our public relations exposure continues to grow as we become known to reports and sought out to answer questions like about asteroid XF11.
Congratulations to SpaceDev Board member Dr. Alan Binder for his great achievement of his successful Lunar Prospector launch, flight, and mission, and especially for his confirmation of water on the moon! We are very excited by the pioneering work of Alan and all of those who had the foresight to support him over all these years. We are looking forward to the possibility of working with Alan over the next few years as we all work together to open space for all of humanity.
Onward and upward!
Sincerely,
Jim Benson |
