I'am wondering if other Schwab customers have had the same problem. You live in the Pacific time zone. Around 11 PM (right now), you decide to add an order or change an existing one for the opening bell tomorrow. You dial Schwab and orders are unavailable. This is not just special maintenance but the normal situation. I don't know when orders become available but it is well after midnight locally. If I want to change before the bell, I have to get up and log on before 6:30 AM. I didn't get on in time this morning and it cost me $500 on a limit order that I wanted to change last night. Really irritating because Schwab is headquartered in this time zone but they seem to have a New York state of mind when it comes to on-line availability.

Also looking at Datek (see the Barron's ratings ?),
John
