Here's a true Irish story. (I put this on the S3 thread.)

Years ago, my late grandmother (Pearl Riley-Full blooded Irish with flaming red hair)
had a good friend (Mae Windish) who was of equal green heritage.

Mae was a very sweet lady and I made it a point to learn some of the old, old songs
on the piano for her as she so enjoyed hearing the music that was popular when she
was being courted by her husband...especially being played by someone so young. (I
was in my early 20's at the time.) Her favorite song was "Let The Rest Of The World
Go By" as it was being played when her husband asked her to marry her around 1915.

Mae's husband had passed away years ago and her kids were, well... jerks.
None of them visited her even though one of them lived locally here in the
Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Definitely their loss as she was a lady with a good mind,
warm heart and a sense of humor that survived her as you will see. Eventually the dear
woman became ill and joined her husband.

Well, it was a bit of a surprise that Mae actually had quite a few bucks her kids didn't
know about. She left a will with very specific instructions as to conditions of the
inheritance.

Her request was that she was to have a traditional Irish wake that would last a full
three days with the coffin to be displayed in her home. In order for her kids to collect
the loot they all had to stay there (in her home) for the full three days and attend all the
burial services to follow right till the time they lowered her into the ground! There was
actually a court appointed guard to insure they followed the instructions of her will.

The statement in her will was "If my children will not come to see me when I'm alive,
this assures me they will come to see me when I'm dead."

They all came.
