Doren, How do you test the processor in isolation from the other systems.
I can envision a test bed with no bus just running certain math test routines. No SCSI I/O tp speed up the G3, and the P-II bound to a 66Mhz bus and so ont.

If G3 does indeed smoke the P-II at a lower price what still keeps the Apple down?, is it lack of critical mass of programs available?, lack of clones(wide market availability) or?

I have used Zip with no problems for years on Wintels, but I have never compared two same size unzip operations on G3 versus P-II.
