Greystone, Just as I should be allowed to follow my own still forming beliefs, Emile should be allowed to doubt the veracity of my beliefs, as long as he does so in a respectful manner.
I do have trouble understanding one aspect of Emile's message though. Where he sates that God's fury and retribution will be great for those that don't believe in Christ. Again, I just have trouble with any God that would hurt, maim, or even severely punish those that dont believe in him, or have views of his message that don't fall within the mainstream. I would even go so far as to say, that I wouldn't want to believe in a God that was that insecure or punitive in nature.
I am not stating these things to anger anyone on this thread. I respect your search for truth and meaning in difficult times. I am currently undergoing the same search, I just have taken a somewhat different path. Sincerely, Mark |
