BITS - news) announced today that it has entered into a strategic relationship with Digital Equipment Corporation (NYSE: DEC - news) to provide them with a new version of its award-winning Bitstream(R) Font Navigator(TM) for use with applications running on the DEC(TM) Alpha(TM) platform under Windows(R) NT. In addition, Bitstream Font Navigator will be incorporated into the DIGITAL Creation Studio 300I+ and 333i+, based on the latest Intel Pentium II technology. Now, graphics professionals using the world's fastest microprocessors are supplied with a state-of-the-art and easy-to-use font management system.
With Font Navigator, users can easily install, de-install, sort, group, sample, view, print and manage TrueType(R) and PostScript(TM) Type 1 fonts. The software also lets users assign
font groups to specific documents and applications, and create shortcuts. In addition, Font Navigator provides Alpha applications with integrated facilities to enumerate Type 1 fonts and
to access their outlines and metrics.
