With the widespread use of networked applications security has increasingly become a main concern to MIS divisions. In a networked environment, applications execute on a server allowing MIS to better manage users and systems. However, with the Internet, extranets and intranets different types of users can run different applications from multiple access points. As a result, security is of a prime concern.
