I agree with you that ATI is an excellent company but I am less optimistic than you about the threat from i740. I think it all depends whether Intel will aggressively market the i740 (ie: built-in on the OEM motherboard for Dell and GW2k...) and how FTC react to it. Anyway I don't see any immediate danger to ATI shareholder, at least not until AGP market share reach 70% next year.
