TULSA, Okla., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Unit Corporation (NYSE: UNT - news) announced today the hiring of a Vice President for its wholly owned subsidiary, Unit Drilling Company. James D. (Dave) Stafford has joined Unit Drilling Company as Vice President of South American Drilling Operations. Mr. Stafford's career covers 22 years in the drilling industry with ten of those years in various international management positions. He is a graduate of the University of Tulsa and is past-President of the Colombian-American Chamber of Commerce.

Unit Drilling Company will be focusing on expanding its drilling market to South and Central America by moving existing rigs or acquiring additional equipment.
