Britt, Private cos. are infinitely more inefficient than the govt., but the difference is, they go bankrupt. If they ever had to pay the actual costs to the environment and for the govt. services they use, there would be many more bankruptcies. Where would all the brilliant tech cos. be without govt. funded research during the wars and space program? Where would they be without the interstates and airports to get their products to market? Where would they be without the govt. invention called The Internet. Dead meat. Right wingers always overstate the cost of govt. and way underestimate the benefits. MB
