I am maintaining my entire short position. This one smells "fishy."
For a development stage company, without clinical trial results, without an identifiable patent base, without even a "clean" publication, to hold onto this sort of a gain in its stock would surprise me greatly.

My question is, Who is selling all these shares? 1.6 million traded yesterday, another 2 million traded today -- even taking the NASD double-counting system into account, that still amounts to 1.5 to 2 million "real" shares traded. Shortsellers did not sell all these shares. Maybe someone wanted out, hence yesterday's little PR stunt.

Why would it not surprise me, if, in the future, we were to learn that insiders were heavy net sellers these last two days? I guess it is just the cynic in me.
