All rumors suggest that Pfizer will receive FDA approval of Viagra on Friday, March 27th and may announce it that day or wait until Monday, March 29th. Rumors circulating about a possible delay in Viagra's approval actually revolve about the FDA's final approval of the drug's package insert (PI).

There appears to be legitimate concerns over the concurrent use of Viagra in patients on nitrate medications (used for cardiac conditions). Further, there does appear to be a degree of non-specific inhibition of Type VI-PDE in the retina of some patients. Further details should be clarified in an upcoming publication of a large Phase III trial in the NEJM in several weeks.
